Wayman Academy of the Arts Receives “A” Grade

Wayman Academy of the Arts earns an “A” grade from the Florida Department of Education for the 2018/2019 school year.

Principal, Simaran Bakshi says it’s a good feeling to earn an “A” because it shows the “students hard work”.

Wayman Academy of the Arts is considered a “100% Title 1 school”.  Bakshi says this classification means “100% of the students are eligible for free or reduced lunch”.   She says 98-99% of the students at Wayman Academy of the Arts are African-American.

Bakshi says an “A” grade should be the norm and no one should be surprised.

Check out the interview below to find out why she says parental involvement is important, what parents/students should expect this school year and what she expects from teachers.
