Members of the Mt. Juliet Fire Department were dispatched to the store on Saturday to free the five ducklings, WZTV reported.

Officers checked the air quality before descending into the drain, according to the television station.

In a Facebook post, the Mt. Juliet Fire Department said water from the agency’s fire truck was used to flush the small birds into a waiting net on the other side of the drain.

“Mother duck was very excited to be reunited with her babies and they’re all happily quacking as we speak,” the department wrote on Facebook.
