Mark Wayne Clark, 61, was arrested early Thursday by Tallahassee police at The Corner Pocket, an area bar, the Tallahassee Democrat reported.

Clark was charged with making a false bomb threat to state-owned property, the newspaper reported. He was released on $10,000 bail at 11:30 a.m. Thursday and will appear before a Leon County judge on Friday.

According to a report by the Tallahassee Police Department, an officer was called to the bar Wednesday night after an employee overheard a man “talking about having a bomb at the Capitol” and that it would detonate at 8 a.m. Thursday, WPTV reported.

“Out of an abundance of caution, the Capitol was closed while it was swept by law enforcement and explosive detecting K-9 units,” police stated in a news release. “No explosive devices were found, and nothing suspicious was identified.”

The specific threat Clark made has not yet been made public by police, the Democrat reported.
