Simone Biles, Naomi Osaka, Stacey Abrams and more make 'TIME' 100

This year's TIME 100 list has plenty of Black Girl Magic. Some of the stars that made the list include "Titans" like Simone Biles and Shonda Rhimes; "Leaders" like Stacey Abrams and Vice President Kamala Harris; and "Icons" like Meghan Markle and Naomi Osaka.

In Simone Biles' feature story, penned by Serena Williams, the tennis champ writes that "Simone's athletic achievements are seen once in a lifetime."

“Simone strikes the powerful balance between humility and confidence — she’s enthusiastic yet stoic, believing in her strength, trusting her body and embracing her greatness," Williams explains. "With a total of 32 Olympic and world championship medals….What she embodies truly reflects the endless potential of Black women. I wish I had her to look up to when I was younger and trying to realize my dreams.”

For the second year in a row, TIME Studios and ABC will bring the TIME 100 list to life with a special television event called TIME 100. Airing on Monday, Sept. 20 at 10:00 p.m. ET on ABC, the program will offer an entertainment-filled inside look at the pioneers, artists, leaders, icons, titans and innovators comprising the 2021 list.
