ORANGE PARK, Fla — Clay County leaders came together in front of the Orange Park Mall Mural to announce the launch of the “Gateway to Clay” project. The project is a revitalization of Wells Road and the surrounding neighborhoods and businesses through beautification and safety.

“This vision for this part of the county is vibrant, it’s optimistic, it’s hopeful,” said Representative Sam Garrison. “This initiative is a desire for us to try to push forward, cast a vision for the North end of the county for the next ten, twenty, thirty years to make sure all of Clay County is included in the growth and exciting things we have ahead.”

This project was established through a combined effort of residents, business owners, first responders and local government. Officials will soon seek input from residents via a website that will go up on a later date and a community forum that will planned for October 21st at 6pm at the Holiday Inn on Wells Road.

“Wells Road is a major corridor many travelers travel every day,” said Commissioner Jim Rancher. Adding “[W]e want to revitalize Wells Road to be a safe and inviting place to live, work and play”
