‘Coming to America’ Sequel Gets New Release Date

We’ve been talking about the long-awaited sequel to Coming to America for a few years and it still hasn’t been released.

However, it looks like that is about to change. According to Variety, Paramount is selling the Eddie Murphy, Arsenio Hall movie. The buyer? Amazon Studios.

Apparently the movie is also getting a new release date, December 18.

The article says the deal is worth $125 million.

It makes sense for Coming 2 America to premiere on a streaming service instead of in a theater. Recent closures of movie theaters shows that it’s unclear when moviegoers will be willing to return due to the pandemic.
