’The Best Man’ as a TV Show? Yes!

Morris Chestnut, Taye Diggs, Sanaa Lathan, Nia Long, Terrence Howard, Mia Calhoun, Regina Hall, Melissa De Sousa and Harold Perrine all made us laugh, cry and scream at the movie screen in The Best Man in 1999. Fast-forward 14 years to 2013 and the emotions while watching The Best Man Holiday were much the same.

Well it’s time to laugh, cry and scream at the TV screen. The Best Man is being turned into a Limited TV series. The series found a home on Peacock. Peacock is NBC’s streaming service.

Morris Chestnut teased this nearly a week ago before the big announcement on Deadline. It was a simple statement (not a question): “Think the group is getting back together again.” Days later Deadline had the exclusive that the movie was becoming a series for TV and the cast would be together again.

According to the report, all of the core cast will return for the 10-episode series on Peacock. The Best Man: The Final Chapters could start as early as September.

What do you think is next for Lance, Harper, Jordan, Robyn, Quentin, Candace, Shelby and Julian? Also, will they include Mia? Even though she died in the most recent movie, it doesn’t seem right to exclude her.

No, it’s not a movie but IMO this is even better! What do you think?
