Auntie Gladys and Auntie Patti Show Out on Verzuz

Gladys Knight and Patti LaBelle got together to give us a show Sunday night. We had our first “Amen” moment when the pair referred to themselves as OG’s!

If you watched the Monica v Brandy battle less than two weeks ago you were probably thinking, “I want them to sing. And I mean SING!" Yes, they did a little somethin’ somethin’ but they didn’t put it down like the Aunties. The ladies brought the vocals from the very beginning and it didn’t stop.

Not only did they have the vocals but they also had the stories. They talked about their children, the shows they did together and people they’ve lost along their musical journey. The 76-year-old singers didn’t have to think about which hit would come next because between the two of them we could still be sitting on Apple Music or the Verzuz IG watching work them work the virtual crowd.

You knew it was about to go down when you saw Auntie Patti’s yellow claws and Auntie Gladys' shimmering purple pant suit. From Love Overboard and Midnight Train to Georgia to The Right Kinda Lover and Somebody Loves You Baby.

Oh and did we tell you Dionne Warwick showed up? Yes, yes she did.
