Doctors orders!  Aretha Franklin won’t be appearing at two major events.

The legendary singer was set to headline the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival at the end of April.

Franklin was also scheduled to perform on her birthday at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark, NJ.

According to several reports the 75-year-old’s management team says,  “Aretha Franklin has been ordered by her doctor to stay off the road and rest completely for at least the next two months”.

She turns 76 on Sunday, March 25.
